My Full Moon Ritual

Many people perform rituals on the full moon. There is an abundance of energy, making the full moon a ripe time to connect with spirit and strengthen our spiritual practice. While many cultures have their own rituals, here are the ones I choose.

Crystal charging
The full moon is the prime time to charge our crystals for maximum efficacy. Charging and cheering energy in crystals is beneficial from time to time. The sun, which directs to much energy, can weaken crystals and even damage or fade them. Instead, the indirect energy of the sun by way of the full moon, is the diffuser for crystals.

Moon bath
Did you know that there is studies showing that people sleep less and wake up more often during full moons, even if they are in windowless rooms? Meaning, it's not the light if the moon shining in that makes them restless. It could be the gravitational pull the moon has on us.

In any case, a moon bath is a great time to relax and recharge in something inexorably linked to the moon - water. Adding magnesium flakes, Epsom salts and essential oils takes the moon bath to a new level of regeneration and relaxation.

Review & Gratitude
The new moon is generally the time to set intentions and begin working on goals. While some goals will be accomplished and completed by the full moon, others will not. This makes the full moon a great time to review and adjust goals, projects and intentions in order to fine-tune them or even to throw them out in favor of something else. What has gone well in the past 2 weeks? What's gone wrong? How do we course correct or look for a new way forward? How do we celebrate our success and appreciate our blessings? All of these are questions to ask ourselves at this time.

Simple Yoga and Stretching
While stretching and yoga are great at any time, we may be really needing it during the full moon phase. With all the energies rushing around us and within us, yoga calms our bodies and minds, giving us a space of solice to work in.

Spend Time Outdoors
Going outside in the moonlight is calming and serene. You can dance, walk with a friend, or even just bask in the light of the full moon. While you're out there, look at the moon. Ponder its craters and valleys which reveal its incredible age. Give thanks for the way it affects life on this planet. If you can, use a telescope or even binoculars to see it better.

Moon water
This one is new to me, but I'm hooked! Fill up some water preferably using a clear glass cup, jar or bottle with a lid. Set the bottle somewhere where the light of the moon can reach it - in a window or even outside.

You can infuse your moon water with a prayer, an intention, a feeling, or even a sound or vibration such as OM or ahh. Just hold your container while focusing on what you're wanting to infuse it with. Hold for a few minutes or until you get distracted or feel done. Then set your water in the moonlight and leave until morning.

Then you can drink the water, wash your face or body with it, water plants, boil it into a vapor, or freeze it into ice cubes to use later.

You may also choose to add flavorings, seasonings, spices, herbs, botanicals, extracts or essential oils (do not consume essential oils.)

That's it! Do you have any full moon rituals? Comment below!
